Hi! My name is Wynette, and I hope that Earth Engineered can serve as a step down your plant-based path. I want to provide a simple resource for established vegans, new vegans, those just trying to incorporate more meatless Mondays, and all those in between. I want to make my recipes accessible to all and as effortless as possible for you to make.
I have been plant-based for several years. I was a vegetarian for six years and recently decided to transition to veganism. As I started to do more research and implement these practices on my own, I was able to experience the value of a plant-based diet. Not to mention I was able to still eat and enjoy all the foods I was eating without the use of animal products.
I still consider myself new to the world of veganism, which means I still remember how cheese (my past fave by the way), burgers, and chicken taste. Too often I’ve encountered vegan recipe dupes that tasted nothing like what it was claiming to replicate. While I may be trying to replicate some of the flavor profiles in the dishes I once loved, I am not claiming it to taste like its real animal product counterpart. What I will claim is that it’s just great food, plain and simple.
With veganism more mainstream than ever, and so many fantastic resources now available, I still felt as though my transition to this lifestyle seemed difficult and overwhelming. Many of the vegan platforms I visited and books I purchased included ingredients I could not find at my local grocery store, were super expensive, required kitchen tools I didn’t have, and required tons of time that I also didn’t have. My closest health food store is 45 minutes away, thats too far for me, I need ingredients that I can easily find at the supermarket down the street!
Someone once told me that if they are craving a particular dish, the only thing that can satisfy that craving is the “real” dish, not mock plant-based alternatives. I’m not going to lie, at first, I agreed with this thought and concept at that moment. But what they said stuck with me for a while. I realized that vegan food actually can satisfy whatever craving anyone might have and if it doesn’t, then you just haven’t had good vegan food. I look at vegan food, not as food that is missing something or just short of something but food that should just be treated as any other type of cuisine. Vegan food is still food, not some food anomaly. Vegan food should not be looked at as any lesser than a dish that has animal products in it. The goal of Earth Engineered is to provide you with a resource of damn good food that will satisfy any craving you might have. At the end of the day we all just want to experience something that tastes phenomenal, and we can accomplish that with food made from plants.
I hope I can make veganism a little more accessible to all by sharing effortless recipes that are of course DELISH!
