Smoothies are a great on the go drink and make it super easy to get some additional nutrients in for the day. They are a great way to get more greens and veggies into your diet, without having to resort to a salad. Let’s face it, we’re not always in the mood for a salad. This super easy and refreshing green smoothie is not just satisfying for breakfast but would make for a super nutritious snack also!
Smoothies leave a lot of room for experimentation which contributes to their convenience factor. If you have some fruits or veggies that need to be eaten, you can always throw them into your blender for nice addition to your smoothies. I also love to add vegan protein powder to my smoothies which leaves me feeling fuller longer.
For this super easy and refreshing green smoothie recipe I use frozen pineapple. Feel free to use fresh pineapple if you have it! I prefer to use frozen pineapple because it is more convenient for me. It creates less of a mess, cutting boards and knives can stay stored away as the frozen pineapple is already cut into perfect small cubes. I literally just dump the bag in the blender. Actually, what makes this whole recipe great is that everything is dumped into the blender! Yay convenience!
This is one of my favorite smoothie recipes because it is packed with so many nutritious and beneficial ingredients. Packed with dark leafy greens, spinach and kale provide many nutrients and vitamins. The pineapple and banana add just the right amount of sweetness. Your gut will love the addition of ginger adding a perfect hint of spice while also contributing anti-inflammatory properties.
I always try to make a point to add ground flaxseed to my smoothies and I even add it to my oatmeals. Flaxseeds are a great source of fiber and omega-3 fatty acids.
